2010 Rustic Red
This blend combines the three red varietals we currently grow in our
vineyards; Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. These grapes had
enjoyed a relatively warm summer in the Upper Ojai Valley, and were hand
harvested in late September.
Tasting Notes:
This well balanced red wine blend goes nicely with just about any meal. We
combined our Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah grapes for this wine,
which celebrates the best qualities of each varietal. We hope you enjoy
drinking this wine as much as we enjoyed making it!
Our Inspiration:
The Ojai Valley is a beautiful setting with it's sweeping vistas and towering
mountains. As the summer heat fades into the coolness of Autumn, the valley
begins to transform into its Winter mode of slumber. The streets in the
famous Arcade become quiet, and the trees and foliage along Ojai's streets
begin to change to shades of brown and gold. Autumn in the vineyard is
exceptionally picturesque. The vines are finally beginning to rest after a
hearty production season; their leaves transforming from their vibrant green,
to hues of gold and amber. The air is crisp and cool, and the sunsets are
stunning with their hues of pink & violet. The busy wine production season is
complete, and it's finally time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and savor a glass
of wine. It truly is a magical time.
